So, I propose to raise the item drop limit per monster to at least 9, but if you wanted to go higher, that’s fine. So why is this a problem? Well, it’s counter-intuitive for Countess, and the rather overly common Sunder Charms do impact the otherwise great drop pools from TZ bosses. ![]() Duriel’s TC is a little more complicated when you factor in his item TC, but I’ll explain that later. This is why you can have 5 town portal scroll drops. However, the town portal TC is attempted every item generation attempt, rather than only the first one. ![]() Duriel’s town portal TC works the exact same way the Sunder Charm TC works. Sunder Charms on high player counts are fairly common, and I’d consider this statistically relevant in the grand scheme of D2 drop odds.ĭuriel’s town portal TC is also picked first. The Sunder Charm TC is picked first, so if you drop a Sunder Charm, you now can only drop 5 other items rather than 6. When Terrorized, the Sunder Charm TC is added to their drop pool. Act bosses and regular bosses (IE key bosses) can drop up to 6 items. This is why there is wisdom saying that if you are farming Countess for runes, kill her on P1. On higher player count, she drops more items, and I believe its basically guaranteed to be 5 items on P7, meaning you can only drop at most 1 rune from her rune table. She has 5 picks from her item table and 3 picks from her rune table. This is because her item table rolls first. ![]() Higher player count = less runes from Countess. This poses several annoying issues within treasure classes: Even if their treasure class attempts to drop more than 6, it will only drop the first 6 that are generated. So as many people may know, monsters are limited to 6 item drops.
